Leonard Cohen – That’s how the light gets in…

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There’s a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in

Leonard Cohen RIP 🌹

A plume without its equal has left a blank page… A crack in his imperfect offering of melodic stirring poetry, from a breathed in Anthem to an exhaled Halleluyah. There are no words beyond the facts. For my part, I coccoon in the fact my name was once put in the same sentence as his, my writing compared to his, even though the thought of being anywhere but climbing on the shoulders of such a giant is difficult to imagine, let alone sitting at the same table. But here he goes, the man with the golden voice, the tower of songs, the Canadian poet, the universal storyteller.

From So long Marianne (my favourite), or Anthem, to Halleluyah, via Dance Me To The End Of Love, Famous Blue Raincoat, Heart With No Companion,
I’m Your Man , In My Secret Life , Suzanne,  Tower of Songs (maybe this is my favourite?), Winter Lady, You Got Me Singing, You Want It Darker
and many many more, Chapeau Bas Monsieur, Chapeau Bas. We have been honoured, and beyond the limits of skins and flesh, through the everlasting essence of pure creative flair, we will so remain.
